Jim was the kind of person who could put together things from scratch. Maybe it was his years of working with very little back in the office, but he liked to think he could put together something nice even with what little was available. It helped there was a restaurant around now at least, and it almost felt like they were going out when they went ( Read more... )

The little cupids running around to deliver notes had made writing them utterly hilarious, and Pam couldn't help still grinning as she made her way back to the hut, Sam on her hip. She wasn't fully tired out - not yet, anyway, though Pam suspected that a crash would be coming soon - but it wasn't a long trip back from Serenity, and Sam had, of course, not wanted to walk the whole way herself. "Judging from the flying cupid that nearly broke down the door a little while ago, I guess it's Valentine's Day? I thought I'd deliver my gifts to you two in person. Hope you don't mind."

"I know I don't," Pam replied, ducking her head just a little as she reached out to take the flowers. With Jim, she wouldn't have expected anything else, but it was nice all the same that he'd remembered and done something without prompting. "So were you just gonna hang out in that, or what? 'Cause you're making me feel kind of underdressed here, Halpert."

"I thought we might go out to eat, just the three of us," he said, then squat down so he was eye-level with Sam. He held out the two flowers he picked for her, which she took. "See the pretty flowers, Sam? Daddy picked those for you."

"Pretty," she echoed, twirling one of them a little. It didn't take too much to keep her entertained.
