If this is a specifically Internet Explorer thing, then try:

Tools > Internet Options > Advanced > Browsing

and check "Disable script debugging".

I can't help on the debugging of the debug problem I'm afraid and you have a workaround, if not an ideal one, on the T'bird issue.

I am however pleased to know the new video card has turned out to be a good thing for you. Given how many various thing$ could have been causing the problem, it's good news indeed to hear you nailed it on the first go.

Yeah, got lucky on the video card issue, all right. Nice card for the money, too!
