I've been thinking a lot lately about the second amendment. It says "Hey, own a gun, it's your right ( Read more... )

ah yes, the french indian war, thats the reason why America was getting taxed to begin with. Once the war was over, England needed money fast. So they taxed the colonies feeling they should pay for the war as much as there paying for the war. mm hmm mmm hmm *keeps reading while nodding*

Sorry Sean, but this one goes to Jimmy. He did mention that it was a bad thing, and we all know that enslavement was a bad thing since thats been clear. But the south felt they needed slaves in order to do their job. Besides, the war wasn't even about slaves. It was mostly about the differences in economical structures. Most people in the south didn't even own a slave, and only 4 owners in the entire south owned over 500 slaves. Yes, slavery was a bad thing, but to their knowledge, it was sometimes a necessary thing... That and Sean, I wasn't even sure what you were trying to say.

Begin Part Four

"There have been a lot of protests. We've had the million man march. We've had recent anti-war protests. Not to mention we've had a whole lot of protests that I don't know jack about. Women's Rights, Abortion, The Right to Vote, Civil Rights. Lots of protests.

However, I think they all pale to the protest of 5,447,220 people. 11 States."

That wasn't a protest. A protest is the peaceful expression of an idea in a large group. Key word is peaceful. Once it starts hurting people it stops being a protest and starts being a riot, a war, or something even worse. I think you understand that, Jimmy. The Civil War was NOT the same thing as all the other things you've listed. As someone who comes from a large family of habitual protesters, I'm truly offended. I don't particularly like myself being likened to a Southern Plantation owner.

End Part Four

*thinks it over* well if the south didn't hurt people right away then I guess it could be considered a protest. But once the war started, yeah, that was a war. Besides, wasn't womens rights bigger? I'm pretty sure that was. Sorry guys, I tie it amongst the both of you.

Eeek.

I always thought the same thing, that in the times of our Fore Fathers guns were not enough to overthrow the government. If we try and use force to over power the government we would have to build a Rebel military. Of course, the government would find out. I wouldn't be surprized if they bombed their own country...so what would be the point? We die without freedom and half our country is uninhabitable? Guess we have to work on time travel then. Yep, go back in time and fix things...great idea "rolls eyes" I don't see any thing changing unless other countries step in. Unless maybe if all the world enters a depression and a plague kills most of humanity off-- to the point where there are so few left that the idea of government is unconceivable. *sighs*

(I like everybody to keep in mind I've only read small sections of this, I don't have time at the moment to read the whole thing)

*sticks up a sword* I PROPOSE WE FIND SOME ISLAND OUT EAST (somewhere in the Bahamas) KICK THOSE GUYS OFF OF IT, FORCE THEM TO GIVE US THEIR LOCAL CAKES AND BOOZE AND FORM OUR OWN COUNTRY! JUST SO THIS SAD PATHETIC PROCESS CAN HAPPEN ALL OVER AGAIN!

*takes deep breath* ... yeah sorry Jimmy... However Sean, (I have to make this even somehow), I do like you to keep in mind that Canadas income (from what a friend has told me) depends on American exports. America crumbles, Canada has no more income. However, I have had some plans to go up to Canada myself (cheaper schooling).
