I appreciate that you wrote this. I entirely agree.
I don't know which of the cartoonists said this, but one of them had said, after receiving many death threats, "I'd rather die on my feet than live on my knees." That's not the full quote, but that's the part we all, all of us that value our freedom, need to remember.

I am probably twisting the quote, but I believe Franklin said that those who sacrifice freedom for security wind up with neither. Freedoms are not free. They must be fought for and defended fiercely, for all, even those we roll our eyes at.
