Darn the Luck

I'm doing my best to avoid all kinds of sickness in these last few days of pregnancy when lo and behold Hand, Foot, and Mouth disease waltzed right in under my nose. Damn virus. I've had to go down to the doctor to draw bloodwork to see if I have antibodies. If I don't, I don't know what that will mean. Hand soap, anyone?

No, no, no!!!! It's not like you aren't already uncomfortable in the last stages. Poor dear. :(

Milo seems to have a very mild case, so hopefully I won't get it. Fingers crossed.

Oh yes, it's a fun virus characterized by fever and painful blisters on the hands, feet, and mouth. It's common among children and very contagious. I don't have it, may have as a child, although Milo seems to have a very mild case if not something else entirely. Two children in the playgroup definitely have it. I got the call Monday regarding potential exposure and thought no way, he's fine. Then realized he does feel a little warm. Low and behold he had a fever of 102.3. No blisters to speak of, just a few red bumps on a foot. The fever is gone. Hopefully no one will bring their kid around us if they suppose a problem. You can get it again if it's a different strain. Yippee!

Thanks Air. He's all better now. We are patiently awaiting the arrival of the little one. Although I had to speak sternly with her last night. Tomorrow's Milo's birthday party, and she's not allowed to upstage it!
