My free-trial period on Ecto ran out, alas. I'd have gotten away with it too, if not for those meddling Growl updates - I had to reboot for the first time in weeks. That meant Ecto shut down and restarted, which meant it noticed that it was older than 21 days on my system.

I forget -- did you ever try MarsEdit? I haven't tried it myself (I'm a text editor guy), but it's popular.

Yeah, I dislike MarsEdit a fair amount. It's the kind of program Mac people try to tell themselves is great.

Not me! I really disliked it.

1.0 was OK, but 2.0 got worse.

Then I stopped blogging so much and didn't really bother with a client...

Indeed. I could spend $250 or so to do precisely that. And best of all, WLW is *free*, so I'd save the $30 most of the commercial Mac blog editors run.
