Gays didn't get to vote for straight people to have the ability to get married, why should it be the other way around?
And I don't want to hear the bullshit about the 'santity' of marriage. I'll listen once the 50% divorce rate of all marriages. Marriage is for two consentual (sp?) adults. sexuality should have absoultely nothing with it.
Fact of the matter is, like Brandon explained, it doesn't matter if this country is "ready" for it or not, they weren't ready to let black people vote, they weren't ready to let women work, the rights of a homosexual wanting to get married falls under that category.
Under California’s current domestic partnership law, gay couples are awarded the same legal rights and privileges as married couples. California has the strongest civil union domestic partnership law in the nation, and Prop 8 does not take away any of those rights.
Oh myyyy. Talking politics is the worst thing to do. U can't change someones opinion if they feel strongly about it. People will feel as they please and arguing about it doesn't get anyone anywhere but pissed off which is exactly why I don't discuss it with anyone but my dad haha because he's the only person I know that won't sit and argue with my decisions in voting but listens and respects them. This entry sure opened up a can of worms... Poor guy LOL. Ps. You missed out Saturday!
