If I can think this through, logically, it'll be fine. Just like writing another piece for the Bugle. Lay out the evidence in a coherent manner, let individuals draw conclusions

Well...ok. If you say so. But: and you'll forgive my journalist instincts kicking in, I'm sure:
You're putting your own happiness above and beyond the safety of innocents? You can't possibly trust this man. And by, well, l-lovhdghkdfj loving him, the implication is that you a) not only trust him to some extent but b) would not be able to see an evil plan coming from miles away. Therefore weakening your ability to save the world, and though not directly endangering people, leaving people in danger instead of doing the Superman thing and taking them out of it.
I apologize. I just need to be the voice of dissent here, since no one else seems to see anything wrong. This is Lex Luthor we're talking about. Man who's wanted to kill you ever since... well, ever. How do you know it's not all just a plot to incapacitate you and then take over the world?
Maybe I'm just confused. But I'm one concerned, confused friend. Sort things out for me, will ya, pal?
But I didn't know before. I'm just as prepared for any eventuality as I was before, too. A surprise is a surprise. I'll deal with it when the time comes.

And I was avoiding the point yesterday, but I... Yes. I do love him. And it shouldn't be hard to admit, not even to you.
I can understand your confusion.
