Hi, Tuu.

I haven't heard from you for sooooooo long, and i have missed you.

1. Do you see there is inequality between the sexes?
yes
2. Do you believe this is not how things should be?
yes
3. do you think something should be done about it?
yes. BUT, the inequality is primarily an economic one. Just as it with all other oppressed groups, and no one is more oppressed in this regard than the poor. They pay a higher percentage of their income in taxes, higher for their home loans (if they can get them) and auto loans, even more for their food, as markets are typically more expensive in poor neighbourhoods. I could go on and on.
And yet, they work longer hours for less money.
We should do something about economic oppression and inequality before we do anything, then see what else is visible and needs attending to.
I used to consider myself a feminist, but now i see it as a distraction from much more important issues.

Anyway, i really appreciate your comment. You're a doll!

i'm sorry about not being around -
i'm here now.
and i totally agree with you about the economic oppression (and i think the US tax and health insurance systems seem backward and clearly designed to keep the poor poor and the rich richer), but i wonder is it possible to force the economy to change if people's values don't change first? Before we learn to see each other as truly equal we will still tend to look up to certain kinds of people and down to other kinds of people, and that will rule our actions. It makes me sad, that even though people say they're all for equality, everyone still votes for the rich white men with connections to oil and weapons industry. Knowing that people's thoughts mostly orbit their own navel, it should be clear those kind of candidates will do their best to fight for the rights of rich white men with connections to oil and weapons industry.
