The Oil companies work just like any other business. The two governing principals for any money market is supply and demand. We all need oil to survive the life style we are acustomed to. The price is raised for every excuse in the global market. There is no massive shortage, but if there seems to be an excuse they can use, then why not charge

ya, its true-- it is all a big, corrupt business... what you say is intriguing (that thing are going slowly on purpose), and I wonder if it can be true (i like to think that it isnt... I like to think that if we could really have affordable alternative power sources we would). I wish I knew.

Let me put it this way, for the toyota prius they sell batteries TODAY at this moment that can go into it and give it around 100mpg....so why not sell the car with those batteries? answer : bad for business to much freedom from oil to soon.
