Since I last did any extensive updating at LibraryThing (over three years ago!), they've switched things up a bit. Now there are these "Common Knowledge" fields for the works which contain things like the publication dates, editors, characters in the books, alternate titles, and other tidbits of useful information. It's all nifty, and I'd like to

I'd suggest appealing to some other users of that website. Try to find someone who is savvy with javascript (userscripts in particular) or browser extensions, and have them re-add the feature.

One thing I didn't do was look through the forums and try to find out when and why they did away with the popularity sort. It might be that it was one of those resource-sucking features that few people were using. If not, though, I plan to whine about it over there. :)
