As for "I want Candy" being a bonus track...that has tended to be the tradition with British singles vs albums...
Take "Penny Lane/Strawberry Fields Forever" that single was the result of the initial Sgt. Pepper sessions. As a single, it came out before Pepper as a push of what was yet to come. Figuring it was out as a single, record companies would not include the single on the Lp.
Of course with the Beatles, stuff would often end up on other albums later. "PL/SFF" ended up as part of the "Magical Mystery Tour" Lp in the states. "MMT" was an EP in the UK.
With CDs having more room than vinyl, they can toss it onto the actual album, but call it a "bonus track," likely as a result of that tradition.
