Favorites of 2007 and Some Basic Grumbling

Mar 20, 2008 05:03

Hey all! I know it's been a damn long time, but it's difficult to find a moment to do these things. I have been wanting to post my "Favorites of 2007" being music, movies, vacations and concerts, but I am just now getting around to it. Typical of me, I know.

I suppose when I reflect on what a great year last year was, I should have a better ( Read more... )

Rob & I watched Juno because nothing else really grabbed us, and we weren't too sure about it either. I loved it too, despite the painful (for me) subject matter. I was completely engaged in the storyline, the wonderful wit, the sheer silliness in some parts. The only part that really struck a nerve was when she was sobbing after having given up her baby. I briefly wondered if it was worth putting myself through that to see the movie, but I think it was. It was an excellent way to package such a heavy subject, and despite all the goofiness it really gave you things to think about ( ... )

Actually, her wit reminded me very much of yours. Were you like that back in the days of you and Dan first dating? Or did that come later as you matured?

You'll have to join us more on our movie nights. It's really fun.

The Spice Girls were great!

I bet you would have loved Billy Joel and Bruce though.

No, as far as I remember I've always been this way, only I was meaner when I was younger. When I was dating Chris I pissed Dan off with my mouth. LOL

Let me know next time you wanna catch a flick. THAT I can probably get Rob to join us for, provided it's not horribly late. Granted, to him horribly late is starting out after 9pm. :~P

I SO would have loved Billy, Pat, Genesis, the Police, and Van Halen. I've never been crazy about Bruce for some reason.

It's cool having introduced you to your favorite album of the year! Lily certainly is fantastic. I wish she'd tour the states, buit now she's hosting her own TV show across the pond, so that doesn't seem like it will be happening.

"Juno" and "No Country" were fantastic! I am interested in seeing the Parker Posey flick, "Broken English." Have you seen her new FOX TV show called "The Return of Jezebel James?"

So far, it's quite good.

I think I had more fun seeing the Spice Girls those two times than I've had at a concert, since the Funk Brothers, when I went up on stage and danced with the daughter of late Motown bass-player James Jamerson and about 18 other people.

Van Halen would have been cool, not just for the over-all music, but to see Wolfie on bass.

Juno was amazing. I actually got compared to her one day at work, a customer said that the way I was speaking reminded me of her. And one of my friends agreed. Sooo I finally broke down and saw it. I <3 this film. And Diablo Cody.

Ellen Page is just cute cute cute!!!! I seriously am so jazzed that she and Cillian are going to be in a movie together. Think filming starts at the end of the year. Psychological thriller. SO JAZZED.
