Summary: Jin should have never asked to change who he was.

Some things in life just never change; like the sky being blue, Koki being an asshole, some things in this universe are just constant. We as humans accept these unchanging occurrences, well occasionally Koki needs a good tongue lashing and a swift kick to the ass, but none-the-less, things are the way they are and some things in life just shouldn't be tampered with, less you want to change the universe's natural order.
Jin learned the hard way that Taguchi Junnosuke was one of those things.
And really, he should have known better than to ask Junno to change. He should have accepted Junno's personality, a long time ago really. Junno is spastic, enthusiastic and more than a little insane, and his long flailing limbs smack into everyone, but that's who Junno is. He's all smiles, crinkly-eyed and Jin should have never said it made him look ugly. Junno is wonderful, beautiful when he smiles and Jin didn't want to admit it, accept it but when Junno smiled, Jin felt better about himself, about KAT-TUN and about the world in general.
If Jin had been better to Junno, hadn't yelled at him when he hugged him too tight and glare at him when he screamed too loud, if Jin hadn't smacked Junno over the back of the head every time he told a lame pun, than it would be Jin in Junno's long arms right now, it would be Jin's eyes gazing into Junno's and it would be him, kissing Junno right now.
He should have never asked Junno to change, to be anything but himself. He should have never felt embarrassed, when he took Junno out and the man made a fool out of himself. Junno is a fool, a good fool and being a fool is what he does. Jin shouldn't have yelled at him, shouldn't have told Junno how ashamed he was to love such a fool. Jin should have been proud, should have held Junno's hand with pride, not with reluctance and a scowl.
Jin should have known better, he really should have. Junno can not be changed, should not be changed and Jin should have never asked him too. Jin should have done a lot of things differently, but he hadn't and that's why he's here and Junno is over there, crinkly eyed with a DS in his hands, his head resting on shoulders that aren't Jin's.
Some things in life are constant, they never change but fools like Jin should. If he had been better, had been more loving and accepting, hadn't made Junno cry, than Junno would still be his. If Jin had been everything he currently isn't, than it would be him with Junno, not Ueda.
For messing with the universe's natural order, Jin lost Junno.
And all he wants, more than anything else although he doesn't deserve it, is a second chance.
