In Japan, I lost count of how many times people called me `cute` or `pretty`. And every time it was accompanied by comments about how I had a "tall nose" (a bad thing in the US, but highly desired in Japan), a "small face", "big eyes", blonde hair (though it`s really more of a light brown), and blue eyes
