this is one occasion i will "lower" myself to your level so to "respond" to whatever craps for those who had gut to write and yet do not have one to reveal your identidy...not only for my sake but for the sake of my friends who bothered to respond to you...i owe them at least this one...

I think the time would have been better spent on Amy.

.do you like to keep your dog in a crate at least 12 hours a day 5 days a week?

Why you no good dog torturer! Was that the best option?? Did it rain 5 days a week such you got to confine a dog 12 hours a day 5 days a week?? I appalled!

yes, i admit, amy came into my life as an "impulse buy"...i did not consider all factors...but we are human and we do make mistakes...we learn from them and we move on...

Good. You're starting to learn. You realized that Amy was an impusle buy. But you should have learned to take responsiblities instead of pushing a 7 year old dog to another person no matter how much criteria you have set on the new owners.

i do have a family to consider and i will try to stay ( ... )

bark bark bark BARK!!! it's barking mad!! that's what one sounds like when one argued for the sake of arguing...without getting even the facts right in the first place!! waste of time to even reply you according to your comment posted...read again your comment and know how silly you sounds and how foolish it makes one look!! i only have one suggestion to you, that you ought to learn from my amy, who knows exactly when to bark/bay and when to keep quiet...

Why worry? cykopunkchick May 11 2006, 19:04:50 UTC
You should just block anonymous posts and delete the ones they have already posted. Let them feel righteous. They're not doing anything but getting them-self off by working everyone up. So why worry about it? You don't owe anyone the right to post anonymously anyway.

Hi, thanks for your advise. I will think about it. However, Not that I worry but I never bother about blocking anonymous posts or replies for there are good people out there who offer great advise etc but without lj accounts and post using anonymous users. And not that I owe anyone, but if for those nasty ones, well let them be post whatever craps they like, let the world out there know the ugly side of people, Singapore, whererver. I do hope by leaving these comments there will not work up readers to be angry or upset, coz this is not worth it. I read them as a joke. They don't get all the facts right in the first place, just abit here and there and just made assumption. E.g. I never know Amy was 7 years old when she was 5, and Amy has to be in the crate when home alone even during good weather days becoz she will now scratch irregardless rain or shine, this was clearly mentioned. But, no point replying to them. Writing this post as a response to the nasty comments on the earlier is already too much a time wasted on them. From this ( ... )

I understand where you're coming from and I agree with you. It's just too bad that some people take advantage of the anonymous posting option. Have you thought about just screening anonymous comments at all? Then you can post them if they're nice and just deny them if they're just causing trouble??

Thanks again, yes, screening anonymous comments make sense as you are right, it is so unfortunate that people abuse the use of this anonymous user. If only people be more civilized and educated...very sad isn't it that they cannot have a proper discussion. Ah well, such is life, the world is full of all kinds of people.

Article from Reader's Digest anonymous May 13 2006, 18:32:06 UTC
Hi jin, an article i found on reader's digest..

KEEP CRITTERS CALM WHEN IT STORMS
Thunder rumbles, and your pooch cowers under the kitchen table. How can you help? Pets take their cues from us, says Kathy Diamond Davis, author of Therapy Dogs, who offers these tips:

KEEP HIM SAFE - Fear of storms may stem from situations in which a pet was left in harm's way. Never leave him out in a storm.

START EARLY - When u help puppies react well to storms, they're less likely to b scared as they grow.

CUDDLE HER - She may really fear being left alone as it thunders.

DISTRACT HIM - If he's having fun, he's less likely to focus on the storm. If yr pet is so frantic that he tries to escape or is destructive, keep him in a crate or other confined space if that calms him.

DON'T PUNISH - a scared pet

PUMP UP BACKGROUND NOISE - Turning on a fan may help soothe a dog.

If all else fails, talk to your vet about medication - Lucia Raatma

Well, here's my contribution. Hope it's useful to u and others tat may b experiencing to same problem.

maybe freaking out may not b the problem after all. could it b habitual scratching of the door? perhaps u could try putting on bootie 2 prevent her from scratching.

The Godfather Speaks... anonymous May 16 2006, 03:53:59 UTC
Hi jin.. ok, on a serious note. wld like to apologise for the ungentlemanly conduct but some shit brains ass holes just deserve to b kicked in the ass. i'm sharing with you my little experience with my not so fury beagle. yes, like u, i wld consider this an impulse buy. before i had him, life was like going to the movies, a game of tennis or badminton and lazing ard pretty much like a bum. but once he came in, it became total hell. my whole lifestyle changed. visited movies a lot less, hardly played any games n did a lot of housework!!! in a way, i get to save $$$ on movie tickets, took up cycling as an alternative and get to burn caleries cleaning up the house. we can do a lot of research n think we know alot abt beagles but knowing and actually living with one is totally two different thing. beagles can show u how a nice cosy home b turned upside down. tried to rehome him twice but fail cause of the way he looks at me n i cant bear to let him go. beagles r v extreme, yes they maybe a racal in many ways, but they will always b the ( ... )

hi, sorry for the late reply i have not been keeping track of this journal...i have never kept a schnauzer before so i cannot compare...i have kept german shepherds etc. as a kid and i find beagles the most challenging to train...you may want to check out more information on the web and do more research...there are alot of books on the two breeds, their personalities, pros and cons etc. good luck, i hope you find one that suits your lifestyle and make the best companion for you :)
