Jinto ran up the steps running over to the target range, checking his watch, he winced realising he was running a little late, still trying to get used to such exact timing. He ran into the training room his eyes wide and breathless.

John grins as he hears the young man rush up behind him, pauses a moment from the task of breaking down the beretta in his hands, leaving the pieces to lie across the table in front of him. He doesn't turn to the Athosian, doesn't let him see the soft amusement in his face at the frightened-rough pant of his breath.

"it's hard, getting used to telling time here, isn't it? Few more minutes and I was going to go jog instead of waiting for you. You'd have missed your first lesson on how to break down a weapon, and that would have been a shame."

He half-turns, letting Jinto catch sight of the grin, and waves the young man over.

"C'mon..lemme show you how this thing works."

Jinto tensed up as he talked before relaxing when he saw the grin. "Ok." He replied running to the other side of the table pressing his forehead against Sheppard's in greeting before looking down excitedly at the pieces.

John lets out a short laugh as the kid fumbles with his hands to quickly press their foreheads together, then stares at the pieces of the broken-down firearm as if they're ancient artifacts.

"Ok, Jinto, firearm, Firearm, Jinto. You need to get really well intot he workings of a gun before you fire one. You need to understand how it works, why, and what can go wrong before you ever even load the thing, got it?"

Jinto nods and he continues on, pointing out each piece, describing it's function, and ends by putting the entire weapon back together again. He slides the clip out and sets it aside before handing the weapon to Jinto.

"now, you try it."

Jinto stared intently watching the process carefully, his mind working swiftly as he slowly tried to pull and yank bit's off slowly but surely pulling it apart and then utterly failing to put it together again.
