I am doing an experiment for my Methods of Sociological Inquiry class today and I am both excited and nervous. The plan is I will dress up as a homeless person and another girl from my class will dress up as a business woman. It would be interesting to count how many people say "sorry" and how many say nothing at all. How will you keep tabs on things discreetly?

Your duffel might be more comfortable with crumpled newspapers -- lighter!

We will have a third person near by watching and taking notes. I am wondering how many people say "no" and how many people say "I don't have a cell phone" and also what kinds of people say what. Are men more likely to say no than women, or is there an age divide.
