Leaving for the big MX on Sunday (which is also my mom's bday). I must say I'm pretty excited, though I could do without the plane ride. I have a tendency to freak out in smooshed-in places - and particularly those that travel at high velocities through the air. My brother is not convinced. Nor am I.
Tbh, I think their first meeting is more likely to be awkward than anything. I mean, I found it intensely irritating how polite my parents are around my brother's girlfriend. I mean, really. You can't feel at home when you're also constantly being asked how your stay can be made better. As we're always told before exams, the examiner isn't out to get you. Same goes for parents. Have fun!

I tend to go with the idea that if it feels right, it's the right time. And it was in this case. My dad really likes Chantra a lot. My step-mom was kind of... bitchy, but she's always like that, and when she said goodbye to us, she passed on a handshake and offered a hug, so that seemed promising. So all was very well!
