Locks of Love is NOT for kids with cancer, it's for kids with chronic hairless conditions like alopecia (kids with cancer don't need fancy custom fitted wigs, they get better or die). People never get that right. I admire their work but they get so much hair because of the constant media exposure (the vast majority of it is unusuable for fancy vacuum formed handmade wig purpose because it is not packaged right, hasbeen color treated, is damaged, not the right length/texture, has grey hairs, was damp, etc) but they are a tiny organization with around 3 or so volunteers and there isn't much demand for these juvenile alopecia wigs (they cost thousands to manufacture-- the hair is the cheapest part. They need the money more than they need the hair to make the wigs. The vast majority of the hair they get cannot even be sorted due to the volume receive and most of it is discarded and some sold (to companies that make fake eyelashes, etc because it is unusable for long wigs for little girls with alopecia) to raise money for the few very

Thanks so much for helping to clear that up. I hate those damned cancer kids. So annoying with their "i was born between June 22 and July 22" and such. Now Alopecia! That sounds like a reason for gluing my hair to little girl's armpits!! make em feel like a woman!
