Well, my friend who used to work with me took a heavy hint and bought me a $25 gift certificate to Lord of the Rings Online but I bought myself an automatic bread maker! The first trial loaf was correctly baked, had a nice crust and held together well and tasted... BLAND! So today I tried a recipe for Apple/Walnet bread - MUCH better. What I really ( Read more... )

Hey, congrats on the bread maker! I've always been interested in them but I'm leery of acquiring large-ish kitchen appliances because my cupboards are already what I call 'stressfully' full and I have no idea where I would put a bread machine when I wasn't actually using it. My friend gave me a loaf of bread that she made in hers and it was lovely. It was plain white bread, very stretchy. That's my favorite kind.

Have fun finding new recipes that work for you!

Only if you want to make me feel guilty for not sending you one. I don't send any out and I'm down to receiving one or two a year.

Sorry to hear abut your hands, but it's great that you are enjoying the bread maker! It's one of my simply joys in the winter (I do mine by hand though as I am too cheap to buy a machine)

Enjoy and keep after it - I'm sureyou'll find a recipe eventually!
