Thankfully I have found a long, absorbing, fascinating fan fiction to start reading, I just wish I thought it was long enough to keep me occupied for a week.   Depending on how the pre-op testing and measuring goes they are talking about me having cataract surgery on my left eye a week from Weds. Thanks for the update. That's just a week and two days before your surgery! I think it's kind of exciting, actually. Your life will be so different with your new and improved vision. I hope your fan fic lasts you.

Thanks. I'm torn between excitement and nerves. I'll know more tomorrow about whether or not surgery is soon (they are doing 'measurements' and stuff.) Right now the idea of being able to see anything without glasses is pretty unbelievable. I've worn glasses for over 50 years but the doctor said there's a good possibility much of my nearsightedness will get cleared up. They will do my worst eye first, so the best result should be after the second surgery.

I am worried about putting eye drops in my eyes every 2 hours. I'm not good at inserting eye drops and there's no one to help me with it. On the plus side, my rheumy cleared me for surgery on her end.

I suck at inserting eye drops, too. I get so nervous about anything going in or near my eye. I've never had to insert them, so I never got good at it. I think you'll be an eye drop pro after the first six or seven attempts!
