There are the rumors, of course, vehemently denied, evidence carefully documented, but they persist. But deep down, I still have this little twitch. Ever seen the Manchurian Candidate? If you remember, the whole point was that the brainwashed veteran was programmed to assassinate a presidential nominee. Unless you expect McCain to off himself, this might be a little difficult!
