Thoughts about the Election.

I'm going to talk about something that I haven't seen many other people, especially faggy liberals who voted for the Terrorist Party like myself, have said ( Read more... )

I agree with you 100%, and I'm also surprised that more people aren't being more vocal about this. I also would have voted for McCain in 2000 had he been his party's nominee. Poor guy's been through more than I can even comprehend, and has sacrificed more for the United States than I likely ever will.

He'll never have another shot, and you're right. It's heartbreaking.

I don't have any great love for the man by any means, but I think it's unfortunate that the hallmark of his political career hit it's crescendo last night.

But honestly, I'm happy that we've got a Democrat in the white house who seems to sincerely want to help fix the absolute crapfest that's currently the united states.

McCain crapped in his own bed. Also, I'd have voted for Gore 8 years ago.

Hey, I prefer to have fantasies about McCain taking Rove out back and beating the tar out of him for giving him shitty advice. Please don't ruin a good thing for me here.

Sorry, but after that Bill Ayers stunt I wouldn't allow John McCain to run a bath. I don't really care about how much of a centrist he supposedly was 10 years ago.

Pretty much every politician is dirty. Part of why I was behind Kusinich back in 04 was because he didn't have a criminal history along with his political one. Obama fits the same mold for me.

You do have a point though, that was pretty fucked up.

on one hand, I *might* have voted for mccain in 2000 if he'd gotten the nomination (who knows how that campaign would have gone?). OTOH, nobody put a gun to his head and told him to sell his soul for a political philosophy that was rapidly dying and that he didn't agree with anyway. He made a deal with the devil and still lost--it's a Tragedy, in the greek sense.

Oh yeah, I know. It's why I have a good deal of sympathy for the guy. It just sucks for him right now. I'd like to see him fill the role that Gore was kinda in back in 04. He didn't have much to lose, so he was kind of off the cuff and wasn't afraid to be a court jester of sorts.

I mean, he's dirty, but at least McCain is a guy you could like.

Probably one of the more intelligent posts about this election, period. I hated all the negativity towards McCain, people were simply using Palin as a reason to not vote for him. He was in an unfair spot, and the public was ready to welcome "change" with open arms... when they didn't even understand what change they wanted.

I congratulate Obama on his victory, and I wish him the best. But the blind voters are in for a rude awakening when they find out that his magic wand doesn't work, and their problems are still going to be with them in 2009.

The president is not a magician. And people are gonna be livid.

I wasn't too happy with how McCain was framed in a lot of ways. But, he wasn't ignorant of the choices he was taking either. I still feel bad about what happened. He seems like an alright guy, and a lot of his pre-2000 political work was pretty moderate overall ( ... )

Oh I don't disagree about Palin one bit. I was completely taken aback by her presence, I honestly felt like checking the calendar to make sure it wasn't April 1st on that day she was announced. He had Liebermann right there! He was in reach, and the GOP blew it completely ( ... )

I honestly think it's okay as long as it doesn't last too long. Power turns people away from their ideals, whatever they are. Four, maybe six years of unilateral rule is the most I think any party can manage without forgetting their ideals.

I wouldn't have minded voting for McCain... if he wasn't forced to go with Palin.

I didn't like this year's McCain. He was taking a pretty fucked up set of tools and running with it.

Palin.. I'd rather not talk about her. Really, it kind of hurts. Not even McCain's advisors could stand working with her.

And from the news reports, Palin didn't much like McCain's advisors either, and she was starting to sound like a psycho feminist. As in "You're holding me back from speaking my mind BECAUSE I'M A WOMAN!!!1!" kind of psycho.

*waves a small Obama flag, and hoping that things change for the better*
