At The Sideline of Love Chapter 3
Journal # 3 - Dream To Reality Monday
THE DREAM
“Sky, listen to me…” Kyle kept on following Sky.
“There’s nothing to explain!!!” Sky was mad. He crossed the street, not bothering to look at the traffic lights.
“But Sky…” Kyle tried to catch up with Sky. But he never did as a fast paced truck hit him.
Sky heard the screeching sounds of the wheels on the road. He heard the loud thud of the body against truck and on the floor. Sky turned to see…
END OF DREAM
Sky was covered with sweat as he woke up from the nightmare. His heart was beating fast as he kept on recalling about the dream. He looked at the clock to see that it’s 4 am. He wanted to sleep again and his body was tired too. But he didn’t want to sleep for the fear of the dream that may be continued. He decided to write the dream on his journal.
Could that dream be a premonition? Oh, I really really really hope not. I hope all of that was just a dream, a nightmare to be exact. If it is a premonition, I’ll find some way to avoid it. But how can I avoid it if I don’t even know why I was so angry in the dream!?!? I guess I’ll just check myself today that I won’t get angry right away. The mask of indifference should be on my face at all times even when around Kyle. I just want to protect him if this dream of mine is really more than just a dream.
Sky closed the his journal and placed it in his school bag. He decided to get ready for school instead since he won’t be able to get some sleep anytime soon. He was one of the early students that arrived at school. But he’s not one of the students who left school later that afternoon.
// The day is almost over. Maybe it was a dream after all. After all, Kyle would probably be busy with his basketball practice so how else are we going to see each other today? I’m sure everything will be fine on my way home.// Well, that’s what Sky thought. He just doesn’t have any idea how wrong he was.
The truth is Kyle challenged Darwin unto a one on one match at a basketball court in the park. And so, both players left early in their practice to have this match. Kyle was intent on being better than Darwin. It didn’t matter to him if anybody else saw their game. He just wanted to see it for himself. But at the end of the match, they ended up being tie.
“Damnit….it’s not over.” Kyle angrily threw the ball, which Darwin easily caught it. It’s not possible for the match to be a tie. But it was made possible as their game were interrupted by the rain. Both players knew that they have to take care of their body if they want to train harder. So right now, both are under the covered court of tennis.
“Of course not.” Darwin replied with a smile and placed the ball in his bag. Darwin couldn’t help but look at Kyle, who’s hair is a bit wet as it emphasized the waviness of the hair. There’s also another thing that Darwin noticed. “You didn’t tie your hair today.”
Kyle blushed as he remembered the kiss from yesterday and how Sky took his hair tie. “What’s it to you?” He glared at Darwin.
Darwin was still smiling. “You look cuter with your hair down.”
“Are you hitting on me?!?!” Kyle growled.
“Maybe.” There was a strange spark on Darwin’s eyes. Before Kyle knew it, Darwin was pinning him on the bleachers and kissing him. A gasp and a thud interrupted the kiss. Sky saw them.
Sky was on his way home when the rain started to hit hard on the ground. So he decided to get some shelter on the covered court of tennis. Then the sight of Darwin and Kyle kissing greeted him as he entered the court. He wasn’t able to contain his gasp and dropped his bag on the floor. He started to walk away and leave the court as fast as he can, not minding that he left his things.
“Shit…” Kyle cursed and kicked Darwin as hard as he can off of him. He ran to catch up with Sky. “SKY!!! Wait up!!!” This only made Sky determine to get away from Kyle. “Sky, listen to me…”
“There’s nothing to explain!!! I don’t need an explanation!!!” Sky was mad. He crossed at the street, not bothering to look at the traffic lights since the street was empty. That when he realize that all of this was too familiar…so familiar…it felt like de ja vu.
“But Sky…” Kyle tried to catch up with Sky.
Sky suddenly turned around and shouted. “STAY THERE!!! DON’T MOVE AN INCH!!!”
Kyle immediately froze as Sky shouted. Suddenly, a fast-paced truck passed by his front, barely missing him.
Sky forgot about being angry. He forgot the reason on why he was angry at the first place. He just felt…//Damn him…why is he making me feel these feelings?// He ran and hugged Kyle. He was so relief to see Kyle safe and alive unlike his dream. With so much relief, he started to cry. His tears mixed with the rain.
Kyle was confuse as to why Sky was acting this way. But he didn’t bother to ask. He hugged Sky back and tried to comfort him as he knows that Sky was crying. A couple hugging under the rain. It was a beautiful scene.
