Reunited At The Sideline

Chapter 2

By the end of the week, Chrono got well from Anorexia. He eats his meals fully now with well-balanced regular diet though he still refuse to eat snacks and still suffering from insomnia but not as badly as before. He also went back to exercising and gaining his abs back.

Chrono fell into a routine. He would wake up early in the morning to do some jogging and exercises. Then he would take a bath, eat breakfast and go to the flower shop to hang out with Kisho. After Kisho’s shift, they would have lunch together. If it’s Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday, he would accompany Kisho to the florist’s second job as a cashier at a grocery store. While waiting for Kisho, he would use the time to exercise in the gym or play sports. After Kisho’s shift, they would see each other again and spend the rest of the day together to do whatever they want or just waste their time and have dinner together.

It was around the beginning to Chrono’s 2nd week vacation when they started having sex again. The routine changed a bit after that seeing how Chrono would spend the night at Kisho’s house or vice versa. To them, it felt like having two houses seeing how their stuff is over at each other’s house. Both were living alone too so there’s nobody to interrupt them in the middle of their private moment. Though Chrono found the idea of having sex in a public place thrilling, Kisho wouldn’t allow it for the sake of Chrono’s fame and reputation.

Chrono was enjoying his vacation that by the end of the 2nd week, he called his manager and asked to have his vacation extended back to one month as what was originally planned. The manager was too happy to obliged.

There was something that Chrono noticed. He and Kisho were always having fun and they never talk about anything serious at all so he wanted to try having a serious conversation for once. He tried that out during dinner. “Kisho, tell me something about you.”

“Like what?” Kisho blew on the hot liquid before taking the soup-filled spoon in his mouth.

“I don’t know. Anything. I just want to know more about you.”

“But you already know a lot about me. You know my favorites and dislikes. I bet you would be able to answer everything in an autograph for me.”

“I want to know something that won’t be placed in an autograph.” Chrono looked thoughtful for a minute. “Like why do you want to be a loner? I remember you saying you have lots of friends but have nobody close in particular.”

“Why would I tell you that? We’re not close, are we?” Kisho winced as he forgot to blow on the soup. “I think I burnt my tongue. Kiss it and make it feel better.”

“Don’t try to change the subject. We’re suppose to have a serious conversation here.” But Chrono leaned and obliged on giving Kisho a French kiss though; which lead to a lot more kisses and dinner eventually forgotten.

So Chrono wasn’t successful on wanting to have a serious conversation but he didn’t have to wait long enough as something happened by Tuesday on the 3rd week at the flower shop. The flower shop was filled with silence as Kisho was arranging flowers and Chrono got himself involved with reading a novel.

The bell chimed signaling a customer. “Good Morning! Welcome to Spring Bloom Flower Shop. May I…” A pause. “…help you?”

After hearing the pause, Chrono lifted his head up from the novel to Kisho. He could the surprise look on Kisho’s face. Then he looked at the new customer, who is…hot. The customer was wearing tight plain black shirt and jeans that showed off his muscles. Chrono couldn’t help but give out a low whistle which earned an amused look from the customer and a twitch on the eyebrow from Kisho.

“I’m here to buy flowers for a sick friend in the hospital. I don’t know what his favorite flower is but I do know that his favorite color is yellow.” The customer has a sexy voice too, which made Chrono wonder if the customer was a singer and what it would be like to hear that kind of voice at bed.

“Please wait for a while as I will prepare a bouquet according to your liking.” Kisho said as he started to pick up different types of yellow flowers. “Would you stop staring at him?” He whispered as he picked up a flower that was close to Chrono’s seat.

“Jealous?” Chrono smirked. “Come on, even you have to admit he’s hot. Maybe we can have a threesome with him?”

“Without work, is sex all that’s in your head?” Kisho rolled his eyes and proceeded to move away from Chrono as he picked up some more flowers. Then he took a seat and started work on arranging them.

“Hey, are you a singer?” Chrono began a conversation to the customer and he could feel Kisho’s glare from the side.

“Used to be in a band but not anymore.” The customer looked at Chrono. “You look familiar.” Then he shifted his gaze to Kisho. “And so does he.”

Chrono could see Kisho’s fingers pause for a while from his work. “Our faces must be very common.” Kisho commented and started to work again and placed the finishing touches. “So are you okay with this?” He showed off the bouquet.

“More than okay. It’s wonderful!” The customer praised. “How much?” And the customer paid for than the price. “Keep the change. You deserve it.” He said before he left the shop.

Chrono could hear Kisho breath out a sigh of relief when the customer left. “What was that all about?”

“What do you mean?” Kisho tried to remain ignorant.

“You were tense when he arrived. You breath out a sight of relief when he left. You paused a bit when he said you look familiar. What was that all about? Do you know the guy?” There was a moment of silence before Chrono left his novel on the seat and walked towards Kisho. He cupped Kisho’s face. “Talk to me. We’re friends, aren’t we?”

“We’re the type of friends that have fun. Not to share and listen to each other’s problems or past and cry at each other’s shoulders.” Kisho stepped away from Chrono.

“How manly of you.” Chrono rolled his eyes.

“I prefer it that way.” Silence again.

Chrono’s sigh interrupted the silence. “Why can’t you tell me anything that’s bothering you? Am I really that hard to trust?” And when Kisho remained silent, Chrono went back to reading his novel but couldn’t concentrate on the story. It was a few minutes later when he slammed the book shut and threw it on the floor causing a loud thud, which made Kisho flinch. Chrono went out of the flower shop and slammed the door closed as well, which also caused the bell to jingle wildly.

After his shift, Kisho was surprise to see that Chrono was just right outside the flower shop. Chrono was leaning against the rails that separated the sidewalk from the street. He hung his head low but still able to notice Kisho approaching him. “Do you still want to spend the rest of the day together?” Kisho asked softly.

Chrono nodded and took hold of Kisho’s hand as they went towards the fast-food, where they seem to eat frequently lately. They spent the rest of the day in silence, which Kisho wondered if they were going to have sex in silence later too. They only exchanged a few sentences during lunchtime. “Though I still wanted to spend the rest of the day together, that doesn’t mean you want to.” Chrono stated after they’re finished their lunch.

“I’m not forcing myself to be here.” Kisho reassured him. “You’re talking. Does that mean you’ve stopped sulking?”

“I wasn’t sulking.” Chrono denied. “And I’m still angry. I’ll be back to normal tomorrow.”

Kisho wasn’t afraid to tease or talk Chrono after that but Chrono remained stubbornly sulking and refusing to talk to Kisho but they still spent the rest of the day and night together. As for Kisho’s thoughts about sex in silence earlier, they didn’t have sex that night but they still slept together in the same bed. Kisho found it strange but nice to sleep in Chrono’s arms without the smell of sweat or sex.
