This is going to be a bit of an
'Emo rant'
Well now, I've been back for a little under three weeks by this time and I have to say that Basingstoke isn't where I want to be any more. I thought for a while that it would be fun or interesting to come back here and find out how everyone is - what I have discovered is how apalled I am by the state of affairs in this town.
The 'culture' (if you can call it that) is making me sick to my stomach and I really want to throw up when I see how the place has gone to pot (in some cases, literally). Even people who are straight edge as anything end up smelling like Marijuana because of the sheer number of people smoking it in public and the smell sticking to them.
Christmas has been a time when everyone has gone completely nuts and people see it as a chance to screw other people over even more so. People here are vile, violent, selfish, irritating, abnoxious, self centred, vindictive criminals.
I thought that I could spend time with my family and avoid such things but - yes, you guessed it - even my own family are bitching about each other and being deliberate in their attempts to provoke each other into anger and I'm the only one here trying to keep the peace or build someone up.
Finally, you guys:
I came back expecting warm people but instead I find a group of guys who are cryptic and evasive as well as cold. I'm not even sorry for saying it, because its true. All I have seen of you guys is a group of people who stay in their social groups and who are content to do such. The actual number of people from this group who have bothered to contact me for ANY reason can be counted on one hand with room to spare (Thankyou to those who did. You made my day). Those who I have met up with (all except Natalie) have been insufferable and I have spent too long stood next to them in a smoke filled pub waiting for them to introduce me or even have a conversation that lasted more than two seconds with me, before I walked out feeling uncomfortable.
In all honesty, I hold you all partially accountable for the state of Basingstoke at present. You guys look like you've just kept your heads in the sand whilst all around has become corrupted and some even contributed. I'm not going to bother organising meeting up with people and I'm going back early. I may not even stay until new years.
Get out there guys! There are some decent and incredible people out there who need some assurance that the world they're leaving to us isn't going to be run by chav culture. You lot can all be hope for people who look to this generation and dispair. Change some lives once you sort out yourselves first.
Psalm 9:18 "Needy people will not always be forgotten. Nor will the hope of oppressed people be lost forever."
God bless you all and have a different new year.
If you read it, be changed by it.
