OK true believers, here is a list of bands you NEED to check out. I just got Lime wire, and thanks to music solutions ala lynch i finally have those few haunting songs i like but don't know.. and now i do. ok list of good bands ready

I think the main reason the solo died was that ppl got sick of it. 3 minutes of someone playing 200 notes a second in every song gets boring quick. Pearl Jam, for example, has some of the best solo's in rock (in my opinion), without needing to be extremely fast. These bands brought substance and feeling back into rock. Music from bands who compete with who's hair is bigger will never be better than good rock music of the early 90s.

Also the reason we have blink 182 and band like that, is cause people are stupid. These stupid people embrace that crap, and the next thing you know they are everywhere.

One last point... Music is always changing one way or the other. No particular genre will stay around for more than 10 years, cause things and people change and they will be wanting something new.

PS: Silverchair, The Toadies, Soup Dragons, and Weezer don't suck.

PPS: Many of the bands you listed, Josh, aren't grunge..just early 90's alternative & rock.
