Saddle broken

Usually, the term applies to wild horses which have been tamed.

Here's another take [adapted from an email to Math's mom, my XSO Linda]:

I'm home on blood thinners.

A pulmonary embolism is a blood clot to the lungs.

A saddle embolism has two heads; id est, looks like a saddle.

In the ER each iteration of reports ( Read more... )

Oh, I forgot the burning truck with the large propane tank in the flatbed. That was a sight! Like a 12-foot high Bunsen burner.

Of course, the idiots would have let it combust without alerting the people in the apartment building against which it was parked. I was able to evacuate everyone after calling the fire department from the first tenant that answered to my knocking.

Geez, sometime I should record my adventures.

You know Jim you always were ready when duty called, and I was a better person because of your being there when the mission was calling, but swimming in that glacial pool took more than was needed to complete the mission. things sure get littler when they get cold. hahaha hhh.

Better health to you

Glad they were able to use their disintegrator ray to clear things up.

Seconded.

All I could think of was how if I didn't get better it would spoil my family and friends' Christmas.

That's the reason for the interdiction on long-distance driving that prevents a trip to Easton in January.

All in all, this Solstice ~marked a graced birth observance, Michael.

Thanks, Sarah.

No, I was late and fair's fair. You're right, I don't need the stress.

The only civil suit I every strongly pursued was over my parentally kidnapped son and daughter where the courts did everything possible to prevent the execution of justice in both cases because I had the wrong combination of chromosomes.

What's wrong with Quilly? I only learned the Balloonatic Bomber's LJ the other day. I'll check that.

You keep well. I know you've had major financial problems with all the translocations and job changes these last few years, Sarah.

May the lights of God burn eternally for you.

In his Nobel Laureate speech, Wild Bill wrote this:

I decline to accept the end of man. It is easy enough to say that man is immortal simply because he will endure: that when the last dingdong of doom has clanged and faded from the last worthless rock hanging tideless in the last red and dying evening, that even then there will still be one more sound: that of his puny inexhaustible voice, still talking ( ... )

Zan, I was also at the December meeting [sans the Philly Diner, sob!] on Friday the ninth with my foot propped on a chair in front of me, listening to John Hemry.

I hope school's going well. We didn't have much opportunity to speak at Philcon.

This is absolutely terrifying! I can't even imagine what this world would be like without you in it...it's just not feasible! You're one of a kind....because only you would yell out "he has jumper cables!" I could almost hear it in my head when I read that!!! I would love to come see you at some point this weekend it that's possible. I'm going to Mom's tomorrow afternoon for a couple hours, if you're up to it, could me and the kids come see you as well?

Love Ya!! Jesse

Take care of yourself, Tom.

We're not at the point of being able to reboot the chassis yet.

It was scary for my friends and family.

I was calmly giving directions to Ken to call the hospital, pulling the number from memory, to alert the ER we were in transit with a possible pulmonary embolism/coronary thrombosis during the car trip.

I had only gone into syncope for those few seconds when Ken helped me into his car and the embolism shifted. From then until after midnight, I was conscious even as my body shut down. I hypothesize mammalian diving reflex like what saved me when I hit my head doing that back flip in the New Hope camp pool and drowned when I was ten. [I was calm then, too, as the cool water flooded my lungs. I insisted that I couldn't die before the scheduled Moon landing.]

Once I made my plan and put it in motion, I was calm and only along for the ride.

I truly expect to live until I'm 150. I've been saying so since I was little.

I should be home most of Christmas Eve, Jess, except for a brief excursion to the O'Briens. Maybe we could visit together.

Call me. Number's in the book. I don't usually answer my phone with all the predatory credit card company calls but I do check my messages frequently.

JJB, I'm so glad you're better--and I'm glad I didn't have to sit and wait to hear... And I'm glad that you had all those people taking care of you!
