Getting a bill from the IRS for $4838 is not something to make your day.  I’m pretty sure it’s all a (non-IRS) clerical error, because otherwise I’m being taxed twice on the same money, but I’ve spent the last couple hours on the internets checking things out.  OTOH, once I have actually received the income they claim I received I would be happy to
