its basically a story about human trafficking. these kids are sold into slavery by their parents, mostly because the parents cant afford to feed the family or keep the children. sometimes they are told that their children will get an education, but in reality these kids work 14 hour days, 7 days a week, in dangerous conditions. many of them die while diving to untagle fishing nets, they are beaten by their slave masters, they feel abandoned by their famalies. the stories are so sad. the kids are sold when they are as young as 4 or 5 years old.

oprah did a special on it acouple months ago. if you want check out oprah.com in the Ophalanthropy (sp?) section and you can read about Lisa Lings visit to try to get some of the kids released.
