Mostly recovered from Aralis. Been a long couple of days since then, tons of stuff at work, and I got my very first ticket, which an afterwards-review of driving laws seems to indicate was due to the policeman being in a bad mood and not me actually breaking the law. Yay for what sounds like a fun event! Boo for driving ticket.

Usually if you appeal a ticket and it's your first one and you have any kind of reasonable excuse, they tend to be pretty generous about the appeals, I think? At least in MA (though that may vary by judge). That's my general impression, anyway -- so long as you're super polite and have some kind of excuse, appeals often go through, and then your insurance premium isn't borked. (Though living in NH, YMMV.)

Yeah, I think it's usually worth your time to go to the appeals for the ticket, especially if you have a reasonable case. It's some investment of time and money, but when I did it, the magistrate was basically throwing out everyone's tickets, so my bogus ticket got tossed with basically no effort on my part. Again, ymmv but I think it's always worth trying.
