Cottington Woods highlights

Had a really good time at Cottington Woods. Was a weird event for me, seeing as the plot member who runs most of the stuff I'm doing was unavoidably unable to attend, but I was still pretty busy and got involved in a bunch of stuff.

- an EXTREMELY unlucky and unfortunate intersection of effects and boons that happened to me during the Eldred fight Friday night, which left me paralyzed, rooted, immune to uncalled damage, and totally unable to call the retreat like I was supposed to while NPCs poked at me and bodies were dropping all around me.

- Wow, Clarissa's mom is so crazy... unless there is something in the walls that only she can see... no, think she's just crazy. What is she talking about with Jeoffry? That sounds... important. I don't know why. Yorick! Yorick will know what to do with that information!

- talking family with Chione and deciding we could be sisters.

- "I got a letter from Shae."
"Who's Shae?"
:sigh: "My fairy friend. You can read it if you want."
"Sure." :picks up letter: "Trev, why didn't you warn me it's covered in glitter?!"

- Arafel making a point of thanking two of the four people who'd helped her with something... and then telling the other two that she'd send for them when she wanted them.

- Actually seeing elves! And they are still unfriendly!

- seeing that Michelle's mage had a very brightly colored outfit, going over to tell her how much I liked it, and discovering she was Wanderkin in the process. :)

- meeting Grandmother, and the awkwardness that ensued. Fen is also a helper.

- !Surprise! fae. Trev might be a little racist.

- the entire Edward mod. Getting to pretend to be a couple of 8 or 9 year old boys with Shalot, while all the time shooting desperate looks at Chloe trying to figure out what on earth we were supposed to be doing. As time went on and we weren't sure what we were supposed to be doing, we started doing more and more things to try to break Edward out of the memory (which it turns out wasn't the goal, but we didn't know it at the time and it was a ton of fun). And WOW we got mean and broke both him and ourselves several times in the process. And then Trev, running out of ideas, asked Chloe if she could shoot Edward. Got permission, shot him, and he immediately went to spirit. At which point Trev was like, "OH NO I HAVE KILLED EDWARD CHLOE IS GOING TO HATE ME."

- getting accidentally left behind during the fight against the wolves (plus one demon wolf). After nearly getting deathstruck while still unconscious, woke up to find 10 wolves standing over me arguing about whether or not they were going to kill 'the Riding Hood'. Got to witness a power shift in the wolf pack firsthand, managed to make Trev's version of a diplomacy check to avoid saying several unfortunate things that would have gotten me spiked right away, and ended up walking away from the entire thing relatively unscathed. No one was more surprised than me to be not-dead at the end of it.

- "Hi, I'm Robin."
"Trevelen Szekeres."
"We've met before... but you don't remember, do you?"
:Trev stares at him for a bit: "I want to shoot you, don't I?"
"I've learned my lesson!"

- the hilarity that was not being able to warn the other people on the mod as we went to go see the story of what happened to Little Boy Blue's family. *I* knew that the mother had turned into a werewolf and then murdered everyone... everyone else on the mod, not so much, it turns out, and I didn't want to mention it in front of the nice little girl who'd witnessed the whole thing. Oops?

- 100 origami flowers

- Trev and Malcom simultaneously turning towards the sound of howling wolves when Red and her apprentice had gone off, and slowly edging towards the sound of fighting until the call for help came and we bolted towards it.

- a very not-romantic proposal. :)

- the creepy, creepy book.
