Had a fun time at MM. Still having some issues connecting with the game, but had some awesome stuff happen regardless.

"Also, spending part of that fight running around with Leung, Jace, etc. :)"

Ehee! Omi is always welcome.

I'm having a similarly difficult time connecting with the game-- I find my highs are high, and my lows aren't low, but definitely a problem. I got the opportunity to build some more connections with the game this weekend, however, which I hope helps future events.

Yeah, that's some of it for me. It's not that I don't do things - I definitely do... and it's not that there aren't things that Omi is interested in... there are... I think it's mostly that I can't think of a single plotline that Omi is actually needed for. Useful? Definitely. Welcome? Most of the time. Needed? Not so much.

But yeah, running around with you guys was a ton of fun.

This was so weird to hear at first, because I think of Omi as being one of the most prominent people in town in a lot of ways. But then I thought it over more, and realized that yeah, she's one of the number one go-to people, but there's not so much stuff plot-wise that she's a primary PC for. I know how that can make it tough to feel fully involved, because you need plot that you're really invested in to get that "can't wait for next event" feeling. If you're just taking whatever comes up, you can have fun at events, but you don't have that OMG what's next? feeling that you can get when you have ongoing stuff you're specifically involved/invested in. This is the EXACT problem that I was having in Madrigal for a while (and still do, to a lesser degree).

I will look out for JJ-enjoyable plot buses to throw you under in the future. ;) I do realize that's not what you're asking, but there's something really satisfying about tossing a friend under the plot bus... (Uh, I mean that in a GOOD way! I swear?)

Yay music! :-) I think a big part of being so in synch was the cathartic nature of it for both of us in many ways. It just felt really "right", like a release, freeing tensions. I aboslutely adored that time Sunday morning.

I'm sorry to hear you're still struggling :(

The "needed" line is a tough one to walk from staff side, because you don't want to force anyone to do something that isn't their bag, so it's hard to figure out when to set up situations that *require* that person. But I know that feeling like you have something unique to contribute is really important when PCing, so I'll definitely keep thinking of you!

Omi's always been an extremely cautious sort, which is a really appropriate character trait, but I know from personal experience that it can also make wholehearted investment in plotlines challenging. I hope it gets better for you, because I really love RPing with you! As I frequently brag to staff, I have roleplay dream teams on all of my plots :3 It would not be the same without you.

Will send you a note on this separately.

Do know that many of my highlights are directly a response to stuff you ran, and that your plotlines are all among my favorites in MM. :)

I'm so happy you're enjoying them! Sure, we can chat at your leisure. I apologize for getting overly rambly on your highlights thread :)

No, no, not overly rambly. It's not only the LJ owner that gets the benefit of your thoughts this way. Unless JJ complains (which I doubt), please keep rambling. JJ and I struggle with many of the same issues so it's very useful to me to hear your thoughts too.

And you call *that* overly rambly? Here, let me show you overly rambly... ;-)
