A Summer Memory....

I pushed out from the shore one morning, alone, breaking the air and the stillness of the water. I paddled around the bend and crept up a meandering river, passing a heron, sun bathing turtles and a couple of wood ducks. A beaver even came up beside my canoe and slapped it's tail on the surface.
