However, at that point in the books(when Milo and Rick first get together),
Alex and Milo aren't quite best friends yet. They all kind of get together at the same time- Milo and Rick and Alex and Robin and Alex and Milo(friends only)

And I dunno, I got the feeling they were pretty much best friends - if not, he was Milo's only friend, I guess. Either way, I'm so happy you liked it!
