Well, here I go reading this horrifying excuse for a book. First thing I notice? That first page, where there are six periods for five paragraphs? In the first three of those paragraphs, there are eight, count 'em, eight hyphens

The next chapter starts off with a positively heartbreaking description of the death of her mother, of course. Then it implies her father has a drinking problem. The sueness is just amazing.

Is it really heartbreaking? Or was that just an ironic use of italics?

It tried really hard but mostly the latter.

It's on par in quality but without the commercial success. I plan to read more while setting up my planets tonight...
