WARNING: Venting some frustrations...

Well.... I'm done with my fall semester with only one more semester left in my undergrad! And here comes the time for decisions! As some of you know, I've majored in theatre. I'm primarily an actor, though I'm interested in playwriting and the administrative side of theatre, too. And like many on my f-list, I dabble in fiction writing as well. ( Read more... )

Maybe you should try the marketing job until you've got a nice cushion of cash to fall back on, then try for a theater job. :)

In my experience and from what I've see others do, it is much better to just jump right in. I know a lot of people that have taken a job to get some money and end up staying there for years without ever pursuing their career. So I say drop everything and make acting/playwriting your first priority. Make it so you have nothing else to fall back on and you will thrive because it is this or fail.

And now I just realized how fucking dangerous that sounds... hmm... you get what I'm trying to say, though, right?

Basically, don't let anything get in the way of what you want to do.
