This video makes me feel much better about Bethesda actually "getting it" for FO3. My only complaint is that the trailer is far more combat-heavy than I'd like, but I'm well aware that it's hard to have exciting talking head trailers:

I have little interest in the game, but that's a terrific trailer.

If you have an interest in PNA SF and you like RPGish computer games, it's worth playing one of the original pair of Fallout games. I think even if you're not a big fan of computer RPGs, you may really enjoy the games just for the scripts--they both remain among the wittiest and best written games I've played.

Never actually got to play them, but I still remember the hilarity that happened during all the dialogue when I watched my friend start a game with a char he'd rolled with the lowest possible intelligence stat.

FO3 is a good argument, but there are a ton of compelling reasons out right now that make it worth picking up.

I agree. The two main questions for me right now are whether I would use it enough to make it worthwhile (especially given that I have a Wii, which I adore but hardly touch) and whether I'd rather have a PS3 for BluRay since the price difference is minimal. I think the answer is no to the second one, but questionable for the first.
