Salome was quite possibly the best opera I've seen at the met, period. The set was astonishing--incredibly stylish without giving way to the Met's tendency for pointless opulence. The costumes were simple and effective--fully infused with symbols of frivolous wealth and power. The performances were all spot-on--from powerfully emotional to haunting ( Read more... )

only partial view tickets left.
is it still worth it? how bad is family circle partial view?

Really? I see all sorts of seats open for October 4 (Saturday matinee) & October 16 (a Thursday). If you really want to go on a Saturday that there aren't tickets currently on sale, go to the met early that day and ask them about standing tickets. The opera is short (~1.5h) so standing is not that bad at all, and often you can snag a non-standing seat after curtain when folks don't show.
