The Amana Colonies sound so interesting to me, from what you have said here and from what I have read elsewhere, that I think I would like to spend a couple of days there. I have always found th Amish interesting, but visiting the areas in Penn or Ohio where they live, as many tourists do, seems intrusive. Because the Amanas are no longer living their communal lifestyle, it would seem more of a historical interest, not the kind of prying that the Amish put up with. In fact, it sounds like the Amanas are eager to share their history.

Carol - The Amanas do like to share their history and it was very interesting. The food was great also.
