ginamak  is a harsh mistress (betas can be SO demanding), so while she was procrastinating on editing the short 20-pager I dropped in her lap this week, we got to discussing this picture. Which, in turn, led to a discussion of how Elias might react to the idea of a goatee. Which led to me jotting my thoughts

I'm back! Just in passing, but still--it's nice to take Elias and Ruby out and play with them again, even for just a little bit. I've missed both of them recently. (If only work would provide time for me to reliably *write*, in amongst all of that "work" stuff....)

I know the feeling! I recently got a full-time job, and finding the time and energy to write inamongst it... It doesn't help, either, that my shift band means I will miss out on attending future meetings of my writer's group.
(But that said, I drew a quick sketch of my main character in the back of my notebook while at training yesterday, so go figure.)
I've missed them too! (And as I said, your entire little PW universe... I've just recently gone back to the beginning and started rereading The Way Of Things again... naughty me, that should be my writing time! :P)

*nods* Exactly. I also quite like my job these days, which is fantastic professionally--but terrible for engaging the escapist bit of my imagination that I relied on to write much of the entire Things-verse.

*hugs* I've missed writing. Now that I've kind of re-discovered the knack, at least for short one-offs, I'm finding that I can't seem to think of anything other than what Elias and Ruby are up to!

Thank you! I've had Elias and Ruby rattling around my imagination for several years now, yet the two of them still surprise me with how much fun they are to write.

I wish I could express genuine regret at this, but of course I can't. ;) I am genuinely delighted that you gave the fics a shot and that you enjoyed the entire series so much.

From the addiction standpoint, a few other fellow addicts run around over at the_rspcpc, aka The Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Peter Carlisle. It was formed back during the original posting of TWoT...and I've just remembered that I really need to cross-post this latest fic over there.
