I am enjoying getting to know Elias better, and looking forward to his next adventure.
(And he *is* the team spy!)

I love writing this character to a ridiculous degree. I feel bad for neglecting Peter, but...*shrug* I can't help it.

(Though at least 1 of these Marauders prospered in the long term; did either Spitty or Mikes survive the incident that led to Elias' exit from the military?)

The Weasley twins probably aren't a bad parallel for Elias and Robert :)

THAT particular tale is next up. It'll be posted tomorrow.

And I've actually -been- to the Cairngorms, near Aviemore. (Has the best fish & chips - The Happy Haggis)
Glad the werewolf didn't get Elias (again). ;-)

They're a lovely spot. Well, provided you're not hiking in a snowstorm with a werewolf about. ;) Fantastic whisky, too!

Definitely pictured Derek Riddell in scruffy-peacoated-ex-cop mode.
That got him to sit bolt upright, his eyes immediately scanning the dark for any threats.
McCoy the meerkat!
"Well, normally yes. But they're not quite where they should be, you see. And since we're on leave and they're due back soon, well…they'd like to avoid any trouble."
Yeah, yeah, who’s naked and trussed to a tree? XD
"Into the Cairngorms."
And now Peter’s crack to Annie about how things are going up in the Cairngorms takes a turn for the weird.
But parts of the Cairngorms also held a darker edge: a large swath of them were marked off-limits by the government, and were surrounded by whispers of fantastical tales that defied description.
This is making me highly nostalgic for Shadowrun.
The Cairngorms were dicey enough on a clear day in mid-summer; in a restricted area in the teeth of winter, they were nothing short of a bloody nightmare. How many bottles of whiskey are they going to get ( ... )
