What am I supposed to write on an text box that will be published technically to the entire world, but really only about 7-10 people?

What great secrets can I reveal in rhetoric that won't make me look stupid. It was peer pressure to get a livejournal. It is peer pressure that shapes the words written on livejournal.

what you are supposed to post in a small box open to the world, but mattering only to your friends is a bit of wisdom. or a small bit of a good/bad time you had. that way, while you might not really be revealing a lot about yourself - everyone else will feel like you are.

well, i had my journal running before everyone else did, so i guess i could make some sort of arguement that mines not about peer pressure. On the other hand, who do you write these journals for other than our friends? If you read mine, its obviously not a personal journal for me and my thoughts alone.

theres an interesting relationship between the teenage brain and the need to get thoughts out vs keeping thoughts private. i've always wondered about that stuff.
