Never believe everything you hear on the internet. It might be false.
Talked with Kez through IM last week. Our conversation went like this:
Kez: I have HIV.
Me: What?
Kez: Bobbi stabbed me with a needle after taking drugs.
Me: Are you kidding?
Kez: No, I'm not.
Me: OMG! How are you feeling?
Kez: I'm the healthiest I've ever been!
Me: ::searching online, looking up HIV::
Kez: Most people who contact HIV will live up to 40 years.
Me: Wha?? Are you scared?
This is where things get weird...
Kez: LOL not really. I'm more afraid of giving the testimony in court
Me: Man, are you mad? 'Cause I'd be mad if it were me.
Kez: um, I guess?
Me: I hope this Bobbi kid gets what's coming to him.
Kez: OMG LOL me too.
Here I am, thinking, "Why is she laughing? She's so brave!" I go upstairs to inform my family that Kez is dying because some jerk stabbed her with a needle.
Me: Dad! Anna (aka Kez) got stabbed by a druggie and now she has HIV!
Dad: What? Oh hell.
Dad: ::on the phone:: Jessie's friend got stabbed and now she's got HIV.
Kristie: What's going on?
Dad: ::tells her the story::
So basically my whole family knows at this point. Even my dad's friends, who were the people he was talking to on the phone. I go back downstairs, still in despair. I think, "Now I'll have to get married earlier than expected, so Kez can make it to my wedding." Of course, that would require me to actually CATCH a boyfriend. Which hasn't happened. Ever.
Well, okay, it has. But I'm terribly shy and all I can do is turn the guys down. I'm such a loser, sometimes. Anyway, here I am, talking about boys when my friend is supposedly dying from an incurable disease. Back to the story.
IM with Mira-chan:
Me: Did you hear about Kez?
Mira: That she has HIV? Yea, I did.
Me: Isn't that terrible? She says she's not afraid at all!
Mira: Well, her mock trial isn't until December, right?
Mock trial??? MOCK TRIAL!!?? WHAT THE HELL!?
Me: WHAT? She was Lying?
Mira: You BELIEVED her?
Me: LYING?
Mira: I can't believe you believed her...
Mira: ::tells her family, they all have a good laugh at my expense::
Me: What's this business about a mock trial?
Kez: I was just telling you...
Me: I asked if you were kidding!
Kez: What? You believed me? LOSER!
