Smallville check-in

Sep 09, 2013 15:24

Insprired by astolat and cesperanza'a 30 day challenge, I am resolved to post more frequently to LiveJournal. Not much is going on in my life right now though, so I can't guarantee how interesting it'll be. Hopefully, practice will lead to improvement.

Did you know the sv_ledger will be shutting down in just 2 more issues? We (the editors) all just felt it ( Read more... )

who could possibly think it was a good idea
The Smallville writers, which honestly doesn't surprise me. Upset me, because I really didn't need any more Clana shoved in my face (and had stopped needing back around XRay), but not surprise me.

Dude, you know I'm all about anything featuring Lex and Clark. ;) Plus, you offered to beta my stuff before I dropped out of the BB, so I'm more than happy to extend the same offer to you.

Hip, hip, hoorray! I'm going to take you up on your offer, but LMK if its just too much - I would hate to slow down your writing because you're looking at my stuff.

I'll be sad to see the sv_ledger go, but I can understand the reasons for the decision and I'd like to thank all the editors for their tireless effort and hard work over the years. They helped make our fandom one to be proud of, and I wish all of you the best in all your future endeavours. *group-smish*

I look forward to your mini-list, Jen, and will do my bit to ensure you have something to report. ;-)

I can always count on you for something to report! I'm just worried I'll miss newcomers.

Hi, sweetie! If you're worried about missing stuff, why not make a sticky post or a post with a link on your sidebar that will be for people leaving links of stories they've seen and liked? I know you're probably watching the SV comms and you should keep an eye on dcu-bang. I doubt I'm the only one writing a Smallville story for that. :)

As for Ageless...*shakes head*. Even if I s-t-r-e-e-e-e-t-c-h my imagination to the limit and accept the fact that the baby aged overnight, I refuse to accept that he learnt to walk, potty-train, and absorb enough knowledge in his short time on earth to have an full use of his speech faculties, and an excellent command of English and grammar.

Whoever wrote that episode should scratch his/her name off the script, like now.

Yeah, DeKnight was very little hit and mostly miss during his years on Smallville. He wrote Lionel fairly well but Clark didn't seem to interest him. Oh, well.

I'm sorry to see the Ledger go, but it makes sense. It's kind of the end of an era. I'll be happy to see what you do with collecting fan work.

I'm rewatching Ageless right now as research for a Big Bang story I'm working on. God, it's painful.
For me the best part of Ageless is when Clark walks away from the explosion looking like Wile E. Coyote. It's the most hysterical moment of the entire series.

We'll have to have a vote 'Funniest Moment of Smallville." Wile E Coyote Clark will by my nomination.

Ooh, that would be a fun idea. Off the top of my head, my nominee would be Clark's panicked reaction to Chloe in Devoted - always makes me laugh.

Well, that sucks. The ledger was my last contact with that fandom and fic, but these things happen and the fandom is every smaller. The big, juicy fics don't seem to be coming out anymore.

Don't give up on us! I'm hoping to see some good stuff from the smallvillebbang and clexmas always has some fun challenges. But yes, it's a lot harder to find things nowadays.
