I'll weigh in on the Torchwood thing and say, if you can only get one series of it, go for series two. Normally I'm a stickler for watching things in order but since you've already seen CoE and are familiar with the characters I don't think that matters quite so much. Series two is better quality, better character development, and hotter Janto better dialogue.
And if you ever write Jack/Ianto, I will love you even more than I already do. :D I've been poking at my Torchwood muses, but not written anything I'm satisfied with for them in years. Which makes me sad, because just like with Cake, I look back on the fic I wrote and I still adore the characters so much... the words just don't flow.
I'm thinking about picking up both from Best Buy but I didn't realize how pricey the Torchwood seasons are. But that's why I needed an expert to weigh in because I wanted to know where to go with it. I'm tempted to start from the beginning because I don't really know the Tosh and Owen characters like I want to, as well as Gwen in a way. I'm big on watching things from the beginning to but, then again, I bought all the Scrubs seasons out of order and did just fine.
LOL. I'd love to write Janto more than anything just because I swear I dig their dynamic more than any fandom right now. It's so push and pull and "Will he just say it." But I think the heavens would be shining on us all if you found that inspiration to write again. You have so many great Cake stories that I look back on with amazement and often a bit of sadness just because you're not still doing it. But the beauty of it is that your works still inspire me and that makes the difference.
Yeah, I'm thinking about getting the whole from season one. I also need to understand the Gwen/Jack dynamic and I'm sure I get that more in season one rather than two... but the temptation just to see the Janto is itching.

Yeah, I went on this hunt for Shelter fics after first watching the movie. Some good, some eh, some really good. I'd say the stories written by spikedluv are rather good but I can't remember all the other authors. There's actually a common LJ that I need to find again all about Shelter.

Not feeling the Kradam, I like them both, but as a pair, not feeling it, idk maybe cause Kris is married? I read some fics, and it was weird lol.
