Title; Life Imitates (or About You) Fandom; M*A*S*H/ RPS Rating; G Pairing; H/T W/A Warnings; RPS Classification; Slash implied. Summary; Wayne Rogers writes Alan Alda about why he's leaving the show.
RPS tends to set off my squick alarm, but this... I think this is very well done. The idea that issues that couldn't be explored in real life were being explored on the show makes sense; there's so much more leeway, so much more room to indulge when you're (ostensibly) only playing a role.
And I love that they became so immersed in their roles, because again, it's got a certain sort of psychological realism to it. Actors not only give a lot of themselves to the characters they play; they also take something away from those characters.
In conclusion: this is really quite lovely. I'm impressed.
I agree with the person above, this is REALLY well done! I love the idea that the things picked up on in-series are things that could've been happening for real. Good work!! xx
I adore it. RPS is wonderful, and the way you write... just wow. Besides, it's RPS that I've been toying with - what's not to love? Can you point me in the direction of anymore?
Stunning, really, is the only word for this piece. It's really unique -- the first RSP (is that the name for it?) I've ever read involving MASH. I really like it. You captured what really is the essence of an actor well -- how much of themselves they put into their work. It's amazing really, what you managed to do.
