There don't seem to be any low-cost, easy-maintenance inventory systems for a small business owner / retailer. There must be a ton of folks out there (like my brother) who are opening shops where they are the sole employee, and they are having to track all of their retail stock by pen-and-paper. But, um, it will have Ajax and all of the retailers can link to their friends' stores.

That would be all well and good if I worked at Jobster, but I do not...

But, since they are now flush with cash, it's tempting to apply for a job.

They discuss different technologies and might have something to help your brother.
At the very least, he might just call them up and ask for advice.
