As I walked home from the bus on Monday night, I was hit with a wave of homesickness. Not for the apartment in California, not for my current apartment, but for the house I grew up in-the one my parents sold 2 years ago. Awww, now you've made ME all nostalgic for my childhood home. I know exactly what you're talking about -- the smell of the logs burning in the fireplace. That's defiitely a distinct smell from Minnesota childhoods. I totally relate.

It's funny how to come to appreciate all the little things so much later in life.

Even if you're not going to take part in the same things, those memories are so strong that it will always be a part of you.

We all go through phases in our life and you're moving to a new one. As scary as it can be, it's also full of excitement. I bet you'll have one of the best holiday seasons ever because of the things you'll be doing for the first time.
